Well, then look no further. Utilizing websockets you can push data from a server to a subscribed client in no time flat. Utilizing the new websocket features of ColdFusion 10 you can be up and running in mere minutes. This session will show you how simple it is to get up and running. Then once the basics are covered more "out of the box" items will be covered to show just how powerful this "little" feature is. Hello, everyone! We're gearing up for next week's meeting of the Los Angeles ColdFusion User Group. Dave Ferguson will speak on Mobile Development with JQuery and ColdFusion:
DESCRIPTION:
Mobile development is on the rise, like a launching rocket. However, there are many different ways to jump on board and get started. Some are easy. Some, well, not so much. Why not take what you already know and apply it to mobile development? This presentation will take a look at using jQuery Mobile and ColdFusion to create an immersive mobile experience. The presentation will also be an open discussion where we can talk about other ways to do mobile development and the challenges brought forth.

Dave has been working in information technology for many, many, years. He has spent the majority of that time specializing in large enterprise-class systems. Dave currently holds a Master ColdFusion Developer certification as well as many other information technology certifications. The presentation will cover cloud computing history, use cases and best practices; a demo of Alurium's cloud platform; and a Q&A session. (Details below.)
